KuleeAngee kick off the new year with another groove infused tune ‘Pretty Love’, following on from a slew of dance floor ready singles in 2025.

Comprised of Scottish musicians Keshav Kanabar and Duncan Grant, KuleeAngee is signed to LAB Records - an independent label based out of Manchester who can currently boast acts like Swim School and The Lathums as among their roster.

KuleeAngee sits in a sweet spot between dance and indie. They’ve got the indie-pop meets funk vibe of acts like Parcels and Metronomy, but with the sense of humour and joy of Confidence Man and Jungle. Their releases so far have all been laid back yet grooving tracks, that would slot in perfectly in any Nu-Disco mix.

And ‘Pretty Love’ definitely follows in that vein. It’s the kind of track that makes you crave summer. While it feels ready made to be enjoyed on a sunny afternoon in July, beer and cigarette in hand, it’s also the perfect supplement to any winter blues one might be feeling. The bouncing bassline and disco beat is infectious - at minimum, you’ll be tapping your foot, but I’d be surprised if you didn’t turn your bedroom into a dancefloor.

The lyrics are stripped back, setting the atmosphere with short lines that put you in the mood. The drive of the song comes from the synths, especially towards the end when the vocals fall back and you’re hit with a swirling wall of sound. Like any good party, the track stays dancing throughout but when it lets go, it lets go.

Whatever comes next from KuleeAngee, I’m sure I’ll be having it queued up on repeat, ready to sound track sunnier months.
